Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Her first television performances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the role. However, her parents did not allow her to act until she turned an adult due to the impact stress might have on their daughter. Perry confessed that she wasn't comfortable acting in high school. She began performing as a means to meet new people in Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Following her graduation, Perry went to New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent However, she was stricken by homelessness and brought the actress back to California and she was able to find acting work. Perry was a part of the cast with her mother on stage in The Other Place at Broadway the previous year. Her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning drama Anna Christie with her in 2015. Perry appeared nine times in The Family, an ABC drama The Family, in 2016. Her father played her character in the ABC drama Scandal. In the same year, she was cast as a younger model of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a teen version of her mother's role. The role was selected via auditions the fact that she had a deep connection with it.
